Edinburgh & East - Wednesday, May 18, 2011

Top story: The Olympic torch will be paraded through the streets of Edinburgh as part of a tour of Scotland ahead of next year's games in London. In other news: MSPs re-elected Alex Salmond as First Minister of the Scottish Parliament; religious hate crimes in Scotland are ten per cent up on last year; quids in - the price of getting rid of the tartan tat from Edinburgh's Royal Mile; and in sport, James Forrest says he didn't know he'd been called into the Scotland squad and he thought his friends were winding him up when they texted him to break the news. This is an international version that may have been edited for rights reasons.
