Tonight, tea break tragedy: the woman who died from a heart attack while a nearby ambulance technician chose to stay on his tea break. 33-year old Mandy Mathieson was struck down by a heart attack, caused by a blood clot, at her home in Tomintoul in the Highlands. The closest ambulance was only two minutes away, eight hundred yards along the road. But the ambulance technician was on his tea break and chose not to go. Another ambulance was sent from fifteen miles away, a journey that took 21 minutes. Miss Mathieson died at the scene. The technician has been suspended while an investigation is carried out. In other news, a third of the primary schools in Argyll and Bute are to close as councillors say it will save them £15 million over four years and Scots are less worried about crime than they were a year ago.
